Florida golf resorts have got it all, and it’s easy to see why the state is widely regarded as a golfer’s paradise. With beachfront courses on the Gulf or Atlantic to inland courses close to Walt Disney World in Orlando, golf resorts in Florida offer something for everyone. But it’s not just the play that makes Florida golf vacations so enjoyable; the year-round sunshine and laidback lifestyle also provide the perfect atmosphere.
For truly iconic golf vacations in Florida, you can’t get much better than TPC Sawgrass. This location is home to two championship courses, each offering picturesque scenery and plenty of challenging play, as well as the famous Island Green 17th hole. Florida is home to more golf courses than any other state and our Florida golf vacation packages comprise the best courses in the Sunshine State. Take your pick from the Ritz-Carlton Naples, PGA National, Innisbrook, Bay Hill, and Trump Doral.
The ‘Sunshine State,’ home to a number of the world’s best golf courses, is one of the most popular stops on the PGA Tour. There is no shortage of championship golf in Florida, with at least three events held each year, known as the ‘Florida swing’, and for those wishing to challenge themselves on some of the game’s most difficult courses, Florida is the place to be. TPC Sawgrass home of The Players, is undoubtedly the most recognized of them, with its island green on the 17th hole being one of the most iconic vistas in golf.
The Stadium Course, created by Pete Dye, is one of the most famous golf courses in the world. The Players Championship, the tour’s unofficial 5th Major, is held on the course, which is best renowned for generating some of the year’s most entertaining play, peaking on the 17th hole.
With its island green, the short par 3 is one of the most famous holes in the game, a defining moment of The Players.
Bay Hill’s golf sweeps across the shores of the Butler Chain of Lakes, which creates superb playing conditions that will challenge seasoned professionals and amateur players alike.
The club features 27 holes of championship golf, and the Champion/Challenger, where the invitational is played, are said to be some of the toughest on the tour.
Innisbrook Golf Resort in Florida is a golfing goldmine situated on the idyllic gulf coast at the Palm Harbor, a short drive north-west of Tampa.
Featuring four championship golf courses, the most renowned being the Copperhead Course which is the annual host of the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship, Innisbrook is one of Florida’s proudest golfing locations.
Home to the PGA of America, PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens is one of the finest in the US. Flagship course, The Champion, which includes the notorious ‘Bear Trap’ hosts Honda Classic every year on the PGA Tour and has also played host to the Ryder Cup and the PGA Championship.
PGA National also offers four other championship golf courses; The Fazio, The Match, The Palmer, and The Estate, each worthy of a trip in their own right.
This course, aptly titled the “Blue Monster,” is 7,590 yards long and has a variety of water hazards that are guaranteed to catch a few golf balls. The course was redesigned in 2014, with each hole resculpted and developed into the modern-day beauties that they are now.
To score, golfers must drive the ball far but also have a sharp short game because of the steep bunkers, dense rough, and challenging greens.
“Florida is the world’s greatest amusement park.”

It had been a dream of mine to play the Stadium Course, as a Pete Dye fan and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We received a warm welcome and a cool introduction about the complex. After checking in we hit some balls on the range and continued to the first tee. I have never felt as nervous. The course was in fantastic condition and I ended up playing the round of my life. All of the staff were very friendly and the food in the clubhouse was excellent.
I can’t wait to return to TPC Sawgrass and until then, I will highly recommend it to friends and other golfers.
