Depart the USA west coast in the evening for a 15-hour overnight flight to Sydney.
Sydney: Early morning sunrise arrival in Sydney and transfer immediately to your hotel, which we have booked from the night before for immediate occupancy.
This afternoon enjoy a Sydney Sightseeing tour to include Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour, The Sydney Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, Royal Botanic Garden and other sights.
Sydney: After breakfast (included every day of your tour), transfer to New South Wales GC, one of the top 60 ranked golf courses in the world. Dr Alister MacKenzie designed this seaside course in 1926 along Botany Bay, where Captain Cook made his first Australia landing in 1770. Bring your camera because this golf course is truly spectacular.
Tonight enjoy one of the many top restaurants in Sydney in “The Rocks” area near the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Sydney: Today is a free day for optional golf (The Lakes GC, The Australian GC, Eleanora GC etc) or for a day at the beach (Bondi and Manly are the most popular), a sightseeing harbour cruise, a wine tour to The Hunter Valley, shopping, or the Sydney Wildlife Zoo where you can have a close encounter and photo with a Koala.
Melbourne: Check out of your hotel and morning 1.5 hour flight to Melbourne. Upon arrival, head to Metropolitan GC, Victoria GC (World Top 100) or Peninsula Kingswood for lunch and golf. These Melbourne Sandbelt courses are all in close proximity to one another and famous around the world for the beautiful bunkering and speedy green complexes.
In the evening, check into your downtown Melbourne hotel within walking distance of the Yarra River, nightlife, restaurants, and casino.
Melbourne: Fantastic day of golf at Kingston Heath GC, a world top 20 ranked exclusive club. We encourage you to stay for lunch and soak in the lovely traditional atmosphere at “The Heath” which has hosted many prestigious tournaments over the years since it’s opening in 1925 and co-designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie.
Melbourne: Today is a free day for optional golf, or city sightseeing tour, Royal BotanicGardens, National Gallery, the massive Melbourne Cricket Ground, Queen Victoria Market, The Mornington Peninsula for wine tasting, the Great Ocean Road and the 12 Apostles rocks, or even the Phillip Island tour with the Penguin Parade.
Melbourne: we’ve saved the best for last and your round at Royal Melbourne GC, where both the East Course (Alex Russell design) and the West Course (Dr Alister MacKenzie) are both world Top 100 golf courses. Rarely will you find a club with such impeccable conditioning, firm and fast greens, and a membership with as many passionate golfers.
Depart Melbourne and fly 14 hours nonstop back to USA west coast, arriving on the same day.
Tasmania: A short flight and a few nights or more in “Taz” can allow golfers to experience the wonderful Barnbougle Dunes (Top 100), Lost Farm, 7 Mile Beach (opening soon), Tasmania GC and Royal Hobart. A short excursion to nearby King Island will feature the highly rated and dramatic Cape Wickham Links (Top 100) and Ocean Dunes.
Mornington Peninsula: Just south of Melbourne are resort towns such as Sorrento, Rye and Cape Schanck where excellent courses and dozens of wineries welcome visitors from around the world. Top golf courses include Moonah Links, Portsea, St AndrewsBeach, Dunes Golf Links, National GC (several), 13 th beach and the Barwon Heads links opened in 1907.
Canberra: The Capital City of Australia is located between Sydney and Melbourne, has a fascinating government master planned infrastructure, and golf among the kangaroos (and politicians) at Royal Canberra and Federal golf clubs.
South Australia: Royal Adelaide GC is the most famous layout by, who else, Dr Alister MacKenzie. Kooyonga GC and The Grange GC are two other famous tracks that can be combined with many notorious wineries and vineyards in the region.
Queensland: The Sunshine State is warm and tropical and known for their endless beaches, rainforests and of course The Great Barrier Reef (a must visit!). Top golf clubs include Royal Queensland, Brookwater, and the gorgeous Hamilton Island GC in the Whitsundays.
