Ryder Cup 2014 Daily Update: Monday September 22
Some of our Premier Golf team traveled to Scotland on the USA Ryder Cup team charter to Edinburgh which arrived yesterday. British Airways treated our team, captains, caddies and guests with impeccable service. For dinner, our squad and others dined on seared fillet of beef with balsamic and red piquillo pepper reduction and roasted fingerling smashed potatoes and black truffle tortellini with chestnut sauce and roasted morel mushrooms.
We got a preview glance of Rickie Fowler’s new patriotic Ryder Cup hairdo with U-S-A etched on the side of his head. The new cut has created lots of buzz, pardon the pun, on the Internet.
As soon as we landed at Edinburgh International Airport, our team members were whisked away on a special bus adorned with Ryder Cup logos to Gleneagles, site of the matches. Word is, several of our players went immediately to the golf course to study the layout and hit practice shots.
During the flight from Atlanta, the President of Premier Golf, Jim Ward, treated us to many great stories about past Ryder Cups at Celtic Manor Resort in Wales, Valderrama in Spain, the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island and other locales. Ward has attended every Ryder Cup since 1991 and knows the ins and outs of the matches. He’s seen it all and is the ultimate expert on this hugely popular and spectacular sports event.
Go U.S.A.
