WHERE TO GO
LPGA Cambia Portland Classic
Now in its 47th year, the Cambia Portland Classic in Oregon is the longest running non-major event on the LPGA Tour and a fabulous tournament to attend. Featuring a purse of $1.3 million, the 72-hole tournament is played at Portland’s Columbia Edgewater Country Club. A private course located five miles east northeast of downtown Portland, the Columbia Edgewater presents the quintessential “walk in the park” for spectators with holes framed by evergreens and the occasional willow tree. Former winners include Stacey Lewis (2017) and Brooke Henderson (2015, 2016). In between rounds, Portland is a walkable city dotted with excellent restaurants, microbreweries and coffeehouses.
WHAT TO WEAR
With the introduction of new fabrics, colors and styles that can be worn on or off the course, there are infinitely more options to dress stylishly and comfortably then ever before. One of the most exciting innovations, especially for those that play golf in hot and sunny areas, is ultra-lighweight, high-performance apparel that provides both sun protection and cooling elements. SanSoleil UPF 50 Apparel has a beautiful line of clothing designed to combat the sun and keep you cool on those long days on the golf course. Better still, the sun protection apparel looks great away from the links and they’re wrinkle free and easy to pack.
