2019 PGA Show Highlights
Big Business— The 66th PGA Merchandise Show attracted nearly 40,000 golf industry professionals from 50 U.S. states and 80 countries. There were more than 1,000 exhibitors, including more than 200 companies new to the show. It is also the world’s largest gathering of PGA Professionals — the 2019 show attracted more than 7,500 PGA pros. The top five countries (outside of U.S.) represented in attendance were Canada, United Kingdom, Korea, Japan and China. The top five U.S. states represented in attendance were Florida, California, New York, Georgia and North Carolina.
Excitement and Enthusiasm –During the show, the Premier Golf Booth (#3672) attracted lots of attention with its colorful ways to celebrate Scottish golf, the Solheim Cup and Open Championship in Northern Ireland. At different times there was a bagpiper playing, team members dressed in kilts and people wearing brightly colored, patriotic Solheim Cup costumes.
New Premier Team Members Tim and Chad — The PGA Merchandise Show was a great way for everyone to meet and talk with two of our newest team members. Golf travel specialist Tim Willerton is a veteran in the industry who has traveled extensively in Scotland and Ireland and is extremely knowledgeable about planning ladies and couples trips. Golf Travel consultant Chad Seymour, a PGA member since 1983 and head golf professional at Westfield CC in Northern Ohio from 1985 to 2017, brings a wealth of knowledge about what golf professionals want in a golf trip for their members. Intriguing Golf Destinations — There were a wide variety of booths in the Travel Pavilion section such as Ireland, Scotland, France, Morocco, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Star-Studded Appearances–An impressive list of celebrities attended this year’s show, including Greg Norman, John Daly, Chip Beck, David Leadbetter, Brooke Henderson, Paul Creamer, Lexi Thompson, motivational speaker Tony Robbins, CBS broadcaster Jim Nantz and actor John O’Hurley from Seinfeld fame.
Premier Golf Booth Prize Winner–Ginie Meadows of From the Women’s Tees was the winner of our booth drawing. She received a stunning necklace from Dune Jewelry and Ann Liguori. The beautiful pendant is filled with sand from the beach in St Andrews. Dune features handmade jewelry with sand, earth and elements.
