Vilamoura itself is an ideal base for a golf trip, hosting great nightlife along its yacht-filled marina surrounded by luxurious hotels. The Vilamoura also hosts the 27-hole Vila Sol Pestana golf course, which has trees and lakes lining its wide fairways.

Located just 2 hours South of the capital Lisbon, The Algarve is is the touristic region of Portugal and home to 27 golf courses across a 100-mile coastline.
Our tour is based at the luxurious Domes Lake Algarve resort, located in the well-heeled marina of Vilamoura, with bars, restaurants, and beaches to enjoy off the course. The resort includes a private seawater lake, gourmet restaurants, three pools, and a Soma Spa.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1
Drive/Transfer from either Faro or Lisbon Airport, check-in & explore the area before enjoying a low-key dinner at the hotel on us.
Day 2
Drive/Transfer to Golf at Dom Pedro Old Course near the resort, after which enjoy a lazy afternoon by the pool before dining at Casa do Lago restaurant.
Day 3
Drive/Transfer to Golf at Quinta do Lago North Course, after which pay a visit to the award-winning beach and enjoy a late lunch or early dinner at Gigi’s beach restaurant
Day 4
A day off golf, why not hire bicycles and explore the Ria Formosa, arriving at Faro Island for lunch before heading back to Quinta for a well-earned rest, or a visit to The Paul McGinley golf Academy for those who can’t put their clubs down.
Day 5
Morning at leisure before a transfer/drive to Monte Rei Golf Club, a Nicklaus design and arguably the best course in the Algarve. Stay for dinner, and eat in their Michelin-starred Vistas Rui Silvestre restaurant before heading back home.
Day 6
Transfer/drive to golf at Quinta do Lago South, before having dinner at the incomparable Marufo’s Peri-Peri chicken shack… its messy work but it sure tastes good!
Day 7
A day to either take in an additional round of golf, or maybe explore the area before picking up some traditional Portuguese terracotta, and enjoying your final meal at Bovino’s steakhouse.
Day 8
Breakfast at hotel, transfer/drive to Airport

Our Tip
If you’re coming all this way you should definitely combine a trip to both the Algarve and Lisbon areas of Portugal, and when traveling between the two make a detour to visit the brand new Maclay Kidd design (he of Bandon Dunes fame) at Comporta.

There are currently over 30 golf courses in the Algarve region of Portugal, which includes the top-ranked (27th in the world) Monte Rei, the exceptional courses of the Quinta do Lago resort, and the beautiful Vale de Lobo courses.
The Algarve is a great year-round golfing destination with a mild climate and warm weather, but we recommend spring and fall, as peak summer can get very hot.
You can book a golf tour across the Algarve with Premier Golf, and the team will be happy to offer you any advice and suggestions to fully enjoy your time in the beautiful Algarve of Portugal.
Caddies are not included on golf courses in the Algarve but it is possible to use a golf cart.
