To set himself apart from his friend and fellow 1930s golfing celebrity, the great Bobby Jones, Robert Trent Jones Sr. used his middle name in part. While Bobby was primarily in charge of the course’s design at Augusta National Golf Club, site of The Masters, Trent was twice invited to Georgia to assist in reshaping some of the course’s most recognizable holes.
The famous Par-3 16th hole was redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1947, changing its position and making it one of the most famous short holes in the game, because of the dramatic role it plays each year in The Masters.
The designer was requested to return in 1950 to modify the Par-4 11th since the hole garnered such positive feedback. Snr. contributed significantly to the group of holes that was later known as “Amen Corner” by a Sports Illustrated journalist, just eight years after the 1958 competition, by better utilizing the lake to the left of the fairway.

Thank you for taking care of our Members. The groups said how amazing their Masters trip wound up being. It was a great trip and they were grateful to your team for the hospitality efforts on-site and off-site.
They had one particularly magical moment when a weather delay allowed them to wind up being a few of the only patrons following a featured group.
Loved being at The Masters despite the weather. Hotel in Columbia, SC was nice and I particularly enjoyed meeting international visitors from England, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Ireland and Scotland. I do have one suggestion. Could there be multiple trips from the course to Columbia SC hotel during the day? The Mill was an ok way station, but there were no relaxing couches or easy chairs. Once you got to the golf course you were stuck until late in the day at the Mill even though the weather may have stopped the round at 3 p. m. The food at the Mill was great but it was still difficult sitting around for 5-6 hours to finally get back to the hotel .
If you are to ask anyone to name a famous golf course, no matter if they play or not, undoubtedly the Augusta National will be among the top answers. From the well-manicured scenery to the delicious concessions to the spring fashion that the patrons wear, a visit to the Masters is a must. The city rolls out the red carpet for one week a year and Premier Golf knows how to make your trip top-notch from beginning to end.
