It’s usually held the week following The Open Championship, although not at the same location. Recent host venues of The Senior Open included the tough and exhilarating Carnoustie Golf Links famously being one of the most challenging courses in the world to play.
The Senior Open, like The British Open, is open to any professional or amateur golfer, making it a thrilling event to witness. Throughout its history, The Senior Open has witnessed several iconic wins, with 20 different winners being named since it began.

The Senior Open 2024 Schedule
The Senior Open Championship will be held from July 25-28, 2024, at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. The schedule will be similar to other Opens, featuring practice rounds early in the week and championship rounds from Thursday to Sunday.
