The Horseshoe Bay Resort is about an hour from Austin Airport but is a hidden gem with excellent Hill Country golf courses on site. Slightly more upscale is the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, a 4.5-star modern resort with two TPC San Antonio courses onsite. You can’t go wrong at either place!
Roughly an hour north of DFW is The Omni Frisco Resort which features the PGA’s own Fields Ranch East Course, perhaps the most challenging public course in Texas and the future site of The PGA Championship.
